Traveling Hearth

This is a ceramic interpretation of a hearth. Hearths are traditionally viewed as the heart of the home. Lindsey like the idea of having one that she could carry with her. The imagery is inspired by Prometheus a titan in Greek mythology. He was a ceramicist and was given the task to sculpt all living things. Prometheus also spited  the gods and gave humanity the flame. He stole it with a stalk of fennel. Lindsey finds the act of creating to be a necessary part of a home. It’s there as a reminder that we have the tools to create.
