Corner Light
Byron and Lindsey were given the opportunity to create a collaborative work. The goal was to make a piece for the corner. They sat down and talked about what they both associated with the corner. Both artists grew up having sleep paralysis and often times in that state associated the corner with anxiety and some sort of entity. This shared experience of having sleep paralysis was a concept that they both wanted to explore. Byron and Lindsey decided to construct a lamp for the corner to act as a home for their fear and to create something new. Each step of making this project was collaborative to concept and construction both artists worked in tandem sitting across from each other working on the sculpture in sections. By incorporating sound into the sculpture the goal was for the viewer to be immersed in nostalgia. The artists believe in combining expertise and resources to create something beautiful and hope to collaborate more in the future as well as working on more collaborative projects with different artists.
